Reaper Bones: Well of Chaos

Hi there... I had to try out my Vallejo water effects, that I purchased yesterday. I remembered that I had some Reaper minis in the cupboard, and among them was the "well of chaos" miniature, that would be perfect for a water experiment :)

First I painted the mini. Then I cut some straws from an old paint brush, and glued them carefully in the pool. After sanding and painting the sand, I poored some Vallejo "Still Water" in the pool. And another layer this mornig...

I didn't quite nail it... the water effect flooded abit on the edges of the pool. And the stuff didn't extend and level itself as I expected. But I think it's on the user, for I didn't shake the bottle before use, and there was apparently some thicker stuff coming out of the bottle first. I should have tried it on somewhere else first before the mini... Next time. I still have two of these figures :)

The Bones miniature is beautifully sculpted, and is easy and fast to paint. Points for Reaper..!

Its really nice from behind too :) Bye now!

Blood Bowl: Death Roller Painted

Hello! As I opened this ancient blister from 1988, I was very impressed of the level of detail, and the old school sculpting job... I had to assemble and paint it right away. And so I did. Here's the pics!

First thought was to use alot of color... for the old mini was demanding it. Could'nt go with just chain mail and wash on the machine. In addition to the Miners United team colors, I added some yellow to the palette.

The basing was a broblem at first, for the rules say that all minis should take only one space (square)on the field. I decided to use normal round base, and make the mini look like the driver is going over a bump in the field (a unlucky goblin in this case), lifting the rear up abit. Mini balances just great in this way.

 From behind...

The goblin was added to the roller from WHFB-Giant box... Finally found a good use for it :)

"And you're next! Run you little green thing..." WROOOOM!!!

Blood Bowl: Miners United

Hi there! It's been a while since my last posting. Life is busy at the moment with all kind a projects, work and family... But I have been doing hobby stuff in the background :) And here's one of them, my dear Blood Bowl team, made from FB3rd edition plastic dwarfs. Now in paints...

Paintjob is pretty fast stuff... But still I'm happy with the result. Team looks good together, and I like those color rings on the bases to identify different roles in the team.

Here's the Runners. Yellow color ring and wings in the helmet (to give them more speed:)

Last line of defence... The Blockers. Though punch of "thick skulled" players! Green rings as usually seen with basic linemen.

Salute of the Blitzers! The "goggles"  are made out of Space Marine backpacks muzzles... They kind a look like Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill :D Red rings for Blitzers.

Last but not least, the Troll Slayers. I made the hairdo from greenstuff, and bended the horns of the other slayer, to make him look less stable... Orange color ring seemed most suitable with these guys.

And here's what's next in line... Death Roller from 1988! I feel bad to open a blister that old... It's a piece of gaming history :( Well, better on the field than in the plastic... And there's my assistant coaches, the famous Drunken Dwarfs, who can also pull off as a cheer leaders if needed:) I'll be back soon this time... Bye now!
